Investigation into Fatal Crash at 3400 Katy Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 3400 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday (May 14).

The identity of the deceased male, 41, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer J. Best reported:

The male was operating a red Harley Davidson Softail motorcycle westbound near the above address and struck the rear of a dark-colored SUV of unknown make or model.  The male was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the freeway main lanes.  A red Honda Accord, also traveling westbound, then struck the male.  The dark-colored SUV fled the scene without stopping to provide assistance.  The driver of the Honda stopped and remained at the scene.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the male deceased.  The driver of the Honda was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
