Investigation into Fatal Crash at 3400 Katy Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 3400 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday (Nov. 4).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer V. Nguyen reported:

The victim, a pedestrian, was attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of the freeway at the above address when he was struck by a white Mercedes Benz C300 and then a maroon Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling in the main lanes.  Paramedics were called and pronounced the victim deceased. 

Both drivers immediately stopped.  They did not show signs of intoxication, were questioned and then released.

The investigation is continuing.
