Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 1600 South State Highway 6 about 8:45 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 20).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Hroch and Officer T. Phillips reported:
The driver of a silver Audi A9 was traveling northbound on Highway 6 as the male victim attempted to cross the roadway from east to west on a bicycle. The victim crossed in front of the vehicle (not in a crosswalk) and was struck by the Audi. The driver of the vehicle pulled over in a nearby gas station and flagged down a Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy that was in the parking lot. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver did not show signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
