Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 2700 North Freeway about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday (May 26).
The identity of the deceased male, 38, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer J. Best reported:
The driver of a silver Dodge Caravan was traveling northbound on the North Freeway when he saw the male pedestrian attempting to cross the main lanes of the freeway. The driver swerved to avoid hitting the male and struck him with a side mirror. The male was then struck by a white Ford Ecosport and a red Kia Forte. Witnesses stated the male crossed the median, looked straight forward and never attempted to look for vehicles as he crossed the freeway.
The drivers of all three vehicles stopped, were questioned and released. None of the drivers showed signs of intoxication.
