Houston police have learned a man critically injured in a hit-and-run crash at 2700 Gessner Road about 6:55 p.m. on December 23, 2023 has died.
The identity of the man, 70, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. James and Officer S. Kong reported:
The man, a pedestrian, was attempting to cross the street at the above address – not in a crosswalk – when he was struck by a grey or silver sedan, possibly a Nissan Altima. The driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid or provide information. Paramedics transported the man to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Examiner in critical condition.
Investigators were notified last Friday (Jan. 5) that doctors pronounced the man deceased.
The investigation is continuing.
