Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 2240 State Highway 6 South about 8:30 p.m. last Friday (Nov. 26).
The identity of the victim, 34, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Hroch and Officer J. Bibb reported:
A silver Dodge Charger was traveling northbound at the above address when the victim, a pedestrian, failed to yield the right of way while attempting to walk across the roadway. The pedestrian was struck by the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The male driver, 21, immediately stopped and called 911. The driver was questioned by investigators, did not show signs of intoxication, consented to a blood draw and was released.
The investigation is continuing.
