| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 22200 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) service road about 10:45 a.m. on Sunday (May 23).
The identity of the female victim, 76, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer M. Ramos reported:
A white Chevrolet Impala and a green Toyota Tundra pickup truck were traveling southbound on the Eastex freeway service road when the Tundra’s driver changed lanes, striking the Impala to his left. The Tundra then struck a sign and a concrete pillar. The passenger of the Tundra was pronounced deceased. The male driver of the Tundra suffered unknown injuries. The male driver, 20, of the Impala was not injured.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
