Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 2200 West Sam Houston Parkway service road about 7:40 a.m. on Saturday (Dec. 23).
A male victim, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene. A female victim, 29, was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The identities of both victims are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer H. Nguyen reported:
The driver of a blue Oldsmobile sedan traveling eastbound on Hammerly, ran a red light at the above address, and was struck by a gray Nissan Titan pickup truck. A rear seat passenger (male victim) in the Oldsmobile was pronounced dead at the scene, while the front seat passenger (female victim) was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. The Oldsmobile’s driver and a second rear seat passenger were also transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in unknown condition.
The driver of the Nissan was not injured.
There are no charges at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
