Houston police are investigating the fatal hit and run crash that occurred at 2200 State Highway 6 South about 3:05 a.m. on Sunday (February 2).
The identity of the deceased male, 21, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Y. Ramirez and Officer R. Young reported:
The male was attempting to get to his vehicle by crossing Highway 6 from west to east, not in a crosswalk, when he was struck by a red Honda CRV and left laying in the roadway. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Honda fled the scene without stopping to render aid. The vehicle was later located abandoned in a parking lot nearby.
