Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 21700 Loop 494 about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday (April 19).
The identity of the deceased male victim, 11, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer N. Duval reported: The victim was a passenger in a red Ford Mustang traveling eastbound on Hamblen Road. The driver of the Ford possibly ran a stop sign or failed to yield right of way leaving a stop sign and was struck by a white Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling northbound on Loop 494. Paramedics transported the juvenile victim to HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood where he was pronounced deceased. The male driver, 46, of the Mustang and the male driver, 60, of the Dodge were transported to a hospital with minor injuries. Neither driver showed visible signs of intoxication.
