Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 20000 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 6:55 a.m. today (January 24).
The identity of the deceased female, 33, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer R. Bymaster reported:
The female was driving a black Nissan Murano westbound on the Katy Freeway service road when she failed to stay in a single lane and drove over a curb on the west side of Fry Road under the freeway. The Nissan then struck a supporting concrete pillar head on.
The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.
No other vehicles or persons were involved in this crash.
