Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2000 Kingwood Drive

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 2000 Kingwood Drive about 12:20 p.m. on Friday (June 27).

The identity of the deceased male, 21, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Wu and Officer J. Chen reported:

The driver of a blue Chrysler Town was traveling eastbound on Kingwood Drive when the driver of a black Nissan Armada, traveling northbound on Trailwood at the intersection with Kingwood Drive, ran the red-light signal. The Nissan was then struck by the Chrysler.

The male driver of the Nissan crawled out of the window and stated he was experiencing breathing difficulties. An HPD patrol officer, who witnessed the crash, began CPR on the male until Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived. He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The female driver, 54, of the Chrysler was not injured.

The investigation is continuing.
