Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 200 Richmond Avenue about 9:35 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 11).
The deceased male is identified as Ronald Bates, 62.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer D. Thompson reported:
The driver of a tan Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Richmond at the above address when he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and struck a tree. The male, later identified as Mr. Bates, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
There were no other persons or vehicles involved in this case.
The investigation is ongoing.
