| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 200 East Loop North (East Interstate Highway 610 North) about 3:40 a.m. on Saturday (February 1).
The identities of the two deceased males, 26, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Richards and Officer C. Moralez reported:
A white Chevrolet Malibu was traveling northbound the wrong way in the southbound lanes near the above address and struck a red Chevrolet Traverse traveling southbound head-on. The driver and male passenger in the Malibu were pronounced deceased by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.
The female driver of the Traverse was transported by paramedics in stable condition to an area hospital. The driver, identified as Nefy Perez Texis, 23, was determined to be impaired and was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #12.
The investigation is continuing.
