Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1900 Blalock Road

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1900 Blalock Road about 4:25 p.m. on Thursday (March 14).

The identity of the deceased female victim, 57, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer T. Johnson reported:

The victim was driving a red Toyota Corolla eastbound on Campbell Road and going through the intersection of Blalock Road with a green light.  While in the intersection, her vehicle was struck by a silver Hyundai Santa Fe that ran the red light while traveling southbound on Blalock Road. 

Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.  The male driver, 35, of the Hyundai was questioned.  He and a passenger in the Toyota were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No charges have been filed at this time, pending further investigation.
