| Houston police are investigating a fatal cash at 16810 Texas State Highway 249 about 7:55 p.m. last Friday (July 9).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant W. Smith and Officer G. Clark reported:
A white Chevrolet van and a white Nissan Altima were traveling northbound near the above address when the driver of the Nissan made a lane change in front of the Chevrolet and either stopped or slowed down. The Chevrolet then struck the rear of the Nissan.
The driver of the Nissan was transported to Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The male driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene, was questioned and did not show visible signs of intoxication. He was released, pending further investigation and results of a mandatory blood draw.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
