Houston police have learned a man critically injured in a hit-and-run crash at 1600 Houston Avenue about 9:10 p.m. on November 19 has died.
The victim is identified as James Midkiff, 36. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer T. Syed reported: Mr. Midkiff was riding a bicycle southbound at the above address and approaching a railway intersection when he was struck from behind by a white sedan. The driver failed to stop to render aid and fled the scene southbound on Houston Avenue, traveling toward the North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45). Paramedics transported Midkiff to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center in critical condition. Doctors pronounced him deceased on November 22. At this time, there is no known information on the suspect driver or make of the wanted vehicle.
