| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 15900 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 12:50 a.m. today (April 19).
The identity and gender of the deceased driver is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Richards and Officer C. Brothers reported:
A Ford vehicle of unknown model was traveling northbound on the freeway at the above address when it struck the wall of the HOV lane entrance. The vehicle became engulfed in flames and the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.
The investigation is continuing.
