| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 15900 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) about 1:55 p.m. today (July 7).
The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Warhol and Officer A. Mares reported:
The victim was driving a black Hyundai Genesis southbound on the Eastex Freeway at the above address and hit a wet spot on the roadway. The Hyundai lost control and veered across several lanes of traffic. The driver of a tractor-trailer truck saw the Hyundai coming into his lane and attempted to avoid the vehicle, but struck the driver’s side door.
The driver of the Hyundai was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the trailer truck was not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
