Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 14300 South Main Street (U.S. Highway 90) about 10:15 p.m. on Monday (September 9).
One male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. A second male victim was transported to an area hospital in critical, but stable condition.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer A. Chheav reported:
The driver of a maroon Toyota Corolla was traveling northbound at the above address when she struck the two pedestrians who were in the moving lanes of traffic.
The driver left the scene and went to a nearby gas station where she attempted to clean her car. While there, she contacted family members who transported her back to the site of the crash. The driver was examined by an HPD DWI Task Force officer and showed no signs of intoxication. She was questioned and released with no charges filed at this time, pending further investigation..
