Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 14200 Briar Forest Drive about 11:50 a.m. on Monday (June 26).
The identity of the deceased male, 18, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer C. Song reported:
A witness stated a silver Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound at the above address when the driver failed to maintain a single lane, went off the roadway and struck a tree.
The driver and a male passenger, 17, were transported via Life Flight Helicopter to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where the driver was pronounced deceased. A female passenger, 16, was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two other passengers, both teenagers, were not injured and were released to their parents.
The investigation is continuing.
