Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 14100 Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) about 8:55 p.m. last Friday (April 2).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Benavidez and Officer T. Phillips reported:
According to a witness, the driver (victim) of a black Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling in the far right hand lane of the freeway with the flow of traffic due to a previous unrelated crash. As the lanes opened up, the Tahoe accelerated and crossed from the far right lanes to the far left lanes. At some point, the driver lost control of the vehicle and rolled several times. The driver was ejected from the vehicle. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is continuing.
