Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 14100 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) service road about 2:20 a.m. on Sunday (May 19).
The identity of the deceased male, 28, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Y, Ramirez and Officer J. Trevino reported:
The male was a passenger in a green Chevrolet Suburban traveling southbound near the above address. The driver attempted to enter the ramp to the freeway when the SUV struck the ramp’s concrete median. The impact caused the truck to roll over, go across a grassy median and then onto the main lanes of the freeway. The male was ejected during the crash.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the driver and the passenger to an area hospital, where the passenger was pronounced deceased. The male driver, 24, who exhibited no signs of impairment, sustained minor injuries and was treated and released, pending further investigation.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
