Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 13200 Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) service road about 11 p.m. on Thursday (Feb. 10).
The identities of the two deceased victims – a female, 23, and a male, 25 – are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer F. Flynn reported: A white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling eastbound at the above address when the driver ran the red light at the Hollister Road intersection. The truck struck a white Honda Civic traveling southbound on Hollister. The impact caused the Honda to land on top of the Chevrolet, strike a curb and then roll over several times. The female passenger of the Chevrolet was ejected. Paramedics transported her to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The male driver of the Honda was pronounced deceased at the scene. The male driver, 28, of the Chevrolet was transported to a hospital. He did not show signs of intoxication at the scene. No charges have been filed at this time.
