Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1300 Crosstimbers Street about 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday (November 4).
The identity of the male victim, a pedestrian, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forenisc Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer C. Loring reported:
According to witnesses, the victim was highly intoxicated and walking in and out of moving lanes of traffic on Crosstimbers. Despite other people telling him to get out of the way of traffic, the victim lied down in the street. He was struck by a white Ford Crown Victoria traveling westbound on Crosstimbers at the intersection of Airline Drive.
Paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Ford, who was determined not to be impaired, remained at the scene and was questioned and released. .
The investigation is continuing.
