| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12900 Westheimer Road that occurred about 11:55 a.m. on Thursday (October 13).
The identity of the deceased male, 64, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer A. Hart reported:
The male was walking in the roadway and pushing a shopping cart westbound near the above address when he was struck by a white GMC Canyon pickup truck traveling eastbound on Westheimer Road. The male was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the pickup truck, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is continuing.
