Investigation into Fatal Crash at 12800 West Houston Center Boulevard

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12800 West Houston Center Boulevard about 5:30 p.m. on Monday (February 12).

The identity of the deceased female victim, 61, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Le and Officer D. Ortega reported:

The driver of a blue Toyota Sienna was traveling northbound near the above address when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the street and struck a female pedestrian standing on a sidewalk.  The Sienna continued through a gas station parking lot and struck a concrete sign post.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.  The male driver, 59, and his female passenger, 57, were transported to an area hospital.  The driver did not show signs of intoxication.  The passenger stated the driver appeared to suffer a medical issue at the time of the crash.

The investigation is continuing.
