Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 12700 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) service road about 1:15 a.m. Today (June 10).
The identity of the male victim, 20, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer T. Smith reported:
The driver of a blue Chevrolet Impala traveling westbound at the above address went off the roadway and struck a tree in the grassy median. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. Paramedics transported a female passenger to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
