Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12600 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) about 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday (November 21).
The identity of the deceased male, 23, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Jewell and Officer K. Stout reported:
According to witnesses, a red Kawasaki motorcycle and a blue Suzuki motorcycle were traveling at high rates of speed westbound on the freeway at the above address. The motorcyclists then drove between a white box truck and a tractor-trailer truck. The Kawasaki struck the rear of the box truck, which caused the motorcyclist to be ejected. The operator of the Suzuki was also ejected from his motorcycle.
The operator of the Kawasaki was pronounced deceased by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics. The operator of the Suzuki was transported by paramedics to an area hospital in stable condition.
The male driver of the box truck remained at the scene and was determined not to be impaired. He was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
