Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12400 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) service road that occurred about 12:05 a.m. on Sunday (April 3).
The identity of the male victim, a pedestrian, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer K. Stanley reported:
A silver Toyota Camry was traveling southbound on the service road near the above address when a male pedestrian suddenly ran in front of the vehicle – not in a crosswalk – and was struck. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Toyota, who was determined not to be impaired, remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
No charges have ben filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
