Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12400 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) service road about 6:05 p.m. on Monday (July 31).
The identity of the deceased female, 58, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer K. Stout reported:
The female was driving a gray Honda CRV westbound at the above address when she possibly suffered a medical episode and the vehicle went off the road and struck a fire hydrant. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported her to the Harris Health Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital where doctors pronounced her deceased.
The investigation is continuing.
