Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12400 Almeda Road about 8:30 a.m. today (April 26).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer A. Hart reported: The male was driving a green Toyota Highlander northbound at the above address when he failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn and was struck by a black Mercedes Benz S550 traveling southbound on Almeda Road. The male was ejected from the Toyota and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The male driver, 32, of the Mercedes was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. He did not show signs of intoxication and consented to a blood draw. No charges have been filed. The investigation is continuing to determine if speed was a factor by either driver in the crash.
