Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12000 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) that occurred about 11:10 a.m. today (June 7).
The female victim, 37, was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer R. Saenz reported:
The victim was driving a white GMC Yukon southbound at the above address when she failed to control speed and struck the rear of an 18-wheeler tractor trailer that had stopped on the freeway due to heavy traffic.
The driver of the 18-wheeler remained at the scene and showed no signs of intoxication.
The investigation is continuing.
