Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 1200 West Loop North (West Interstate Highway 610) about 10:40 a.m. today (October 12).
The identity of the deceased male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County of Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer R. Bymaster reported:
According to witnesses, the male was driving a gray Nissan Altima below the speed limit northbound on the West Loop, then accelerated and swerved in and out of traffic. The male lost control of the vehicle and struck the right-side concrete wall of the freeway. The vehicle then traveled across all five lanes of traffic and struck the left concrete wall twice. The vehicle then kept moving across the freeway and struck the right concrete wall a second time.
Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
No other persons or vehicles were involved in this crash.
