Houston police have learned a woman critically injured in a crash at 11800 South Sam Houston Parkway West service road (Beltway 8) about 11:55 a.m. on November 5 has died.
The victim, 77, was pronounced deceased at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital last Friday (Nov. 20). Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division D. Griffiths and South Gessner Patrol Division officers reported:
A silver Toyota RAV4 and a white Dodge Ram pickup truck towing a black Peterbuilt 220 truck were traveling northbound on the service road at the above address when the Dodge turned into a private drive. At that time, the driver (victim) of the Toyota failed to control speed and struck the Peterbuilt truck being towed. Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Dodge was not injured.
