Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 11500 Westpark Drive about 6:50 a.m. on Sunday (August 2).
The identity of the deceased female, 21, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Patterson and Officer Z. Alikhan reported:
A white Honda Accord was traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic lanes westbound at the above address. The driver failed to maintain a single lane, lost control of the vehicle and struck an electrical pole.
Responding Houston Fire Department Paramedics pronounced the female deceased at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
There were no other persons or vehicles involved in this crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
