Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 11500 Almeda Road about 2:35 p.m. last Friday (March 1).
The identity of the deceased female victim, 58, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer X. Zhang reported: The female driver of a white Hyundai Tucson was traveling southbound near the above address when, for unknown reasons, she failed to stay in a single lane. The Hyundai entered the northbound lanes of Almeda Road and struck a white Infiniti QX56 traveling northbound. The female driver (victim) of the Infiniti lost control and entered the southbound lanes of Almeda Road and, as it spun around, was struck on the driver’s side door by a white Dodge 3500 pickup truck traveling southbound. The driver of the Infiniti was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The driver, 33, of the Hyundai was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was determined not to be impaired. The driver of the Dodge was not injured.
