Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 11100 Monroe Road about 6:40 a.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 9).
The identity of the male victim, 56, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer J. Tran reported: The victim was driving a black Nissan Maxima northbound at the above address when his vehicle was struck by a white Ford Explorer whose male driver, 19, failed to yield the right of way leaving a stop sign. The impact caused the Nissan to hit a tree and gas station support poles. Paramedics transported the victim to HCA Clearlake Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The male driver, 19, of the Ford was not injured. He was questioned and released pending further investigation. No charges have been filed at this time. JFC/VHS 8-10-22 Inc #105869122-T
