Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1100 State Highway 6 South about 11:15 p.m. on Saturday (December 12).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Benavidez and Officer T. Smith reported:
According to a witness, the victim was attempting to cross the highway at the above address while on foot and not in a crosswalk. The driver of a silver Toyota Highlander struck the victim. The driver stopped, got of the vehicle, then immediately got back in and fled at a high rate of speed without attempting to render aid.
