Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1100 South State Highway 6 about 4:30 a.m. today (March 21).
The identity of the deceased male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer C. Nguyen reported:
The male was driving a gray Honda Accord southbound at the above address when he struck a white 18-wheeler Freightliner truck leaving a parking lot and traveling westbound across the main lanes while making a left turn. The driver of the 18-wheeler stopped and remained at the scene.
Paramedics pronounced the driver of the Honda deceased at the scene.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
