Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 10700 Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) about 12:20 a.m. on Saturday (July 17).
The identity of the male victim, 38, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer D. Hoang reported:
The victim was driving a Volkswagen Tiguan southbound on the freeway at the above address when he crashed into a barrel/divider between the main lanes of the Northwest Freeway and the exit ramp to the Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) flyover.
It is believed the victim did not attempt to stop before the crash occurred. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other motorists or vehicles were involved in this incident. The investigation is continuing.
