A female critically injured in a hit-and-run crash at 10500 Westheimer Road about 8:50 p.m. on July 13 has died.
The identity of the female victim, 86, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer M. Aldana and Westside Patrol Division Officer J. Alvarenga reported:
The driver of a black Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling eastbound at the above address and had the green light at the intersection of Blue Willow Drive. A female pedestrian (victim) crossed Westheimer Road southbound and was struck by the pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck did not stop to provide medical assistance and fled the scene.
Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in critical condition. Doctor pronounced her deceased today (July 21) from injuries sustained in the crash.
