Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 10300 West Bellfort Avenue about 7:45 p.m. on July 31.
The victim, 55, was transported to Memorial Hermann Texas – Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Uribe reported:
Officers responded to a crash at the above address and learned the victim was chased by another male with a knife in a food store parking lot at the above address. The victim then ran into the street and was struck by the driver of a white Ford Fusion.
The victim was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital in critical condition and died later the same day. The driver of the Ford remained at the scene, was questioned and released. He did not show any signs of intoxication.
The investigation is continuing.
