| Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 10300 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 5:20 a.m. today (November 19).
The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Warhol and Officer M. Tamez reported:
The driver of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling southbound on the main lanes of the North Freeway when a tractor-trailer truck in front of him abruptly swerved into another lane. At that time, the driver of the pickup truck saw a female standing in the roadway and attempted to swerve to the inner shoulder to avoid her. The victim also ran in the same direction and was struck by the pickup truck’s side mirror. The female died at the scene. The driver of the pickup, who was determined not to be impaired, remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
