Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1000 Parker Road about 3:15 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 28).
The identity of the male victim, 52, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer N. Duval reported: The victim was driving a maroon Ford Mustang northbound on Silvercrest Street and stopped at a stop sign at the intersection at Parker Road. As the driver left the stop sign, his vehicle was struck by a black Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling eastbound on Parker Road. The impact caused the Ford to spin out. Paramedics were called and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The female driver, 35, of the Chevrolet continued to travel eastbound until her SUV became disabled near the intersection of Parker Road and the Hardy Toll Road service road. The driver and her juvenile male passenger walked back to the crash scene to provide a statement. The driver was not injured. The child, 4 years of age, was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital as a precaution. The driver did not show signs of intoxication. The investigation is continuing.
