Houston police are investigating the death of an infant found at 7909 Northcourt about 7:30 p.m. on Friday (June 23) and say the incident will likely be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The victim, a 7-month-old boy, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The baby’s father, 36, had his three children in his vehicle as he dropped off two of the children at a daycare and arrived at his workplace at the above address about 9:30 a.m. The baby (victim) usually gets dropped off separately to a babysitter. When his wife called asking on the whereabouts of the baby, the father went out to the vehicle about 7:30 p.m. and found the baby unresponsive in the car seat. Paramedics pronounced the infant deceased. Investigators interviewed the father, contacted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and then released him pending further investigation.
NOTE: No other information is available pending the investigation.
