Houston police are investigating an assault of a woman that occurred at 303 Memorial City Way about 8:30 a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 25).
The victim, 31, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
HPD Homicide Division Officer K. Persad reported:
After the victim walked into a restroom at the Memorial City Mall, she was confronted by an unknown male suspect who approached her from behind and placed a trash bag around her neck. The suspect then began strangling the victim until she lost consciousness. He then kicked her repeatedly before fleeing and boarding a METRO bus southbound on Gessner Street.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where doctors stated she is expected to survive her injuries.
The suspect is described only as a black male, 25 to 35 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and 160 to 180 pounds.
