Houston Health Department reports 54 new COVID-19 cases

HOUSTON — The Houston Health Department announced 54 new positive coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases on Sunday, bringing the city’s total to 286. Houston’s COVID-19 deaths remain at two as no new deaths were reported Sunday.

The City of Houston is developing an online dashboard to provide an overview of the city’s COVID-19 cases, such as total cases, gender, age groups, recovery status, and deaths.

Investigations conducted by the department will identify potential contacts exposed to the virus. The department will provide close contacts guidance about the virus and monitor them for the development of symptoms.

Privacy protection laws only permit the release of limited patient information.
