WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: April 4, 2025, at 2:09 p.m.
WHERE: 4200 block of Weaver Rd. 77016.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: About $300,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $40,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from the back porch of a 2-story house and extending to the home. They made an attack on the fire and conducted a primary and secondary search. The utilities were secured, and the fire was extinguished. The home was a halfway house that housed 16 people. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 52 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 15, 19, 31, 34, 17, 56, 24, 30 and Rescue 42.
