WHAT: House fire.

WHERE: 7300 block of Homestead Rd. 77028.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $40,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $40,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find heavy smoke coming from a 1-story house with the windows and doors boarded up. They made an offensive attack and removed the plywood from the windows. The home was ventilated, and the fire was reset. Crews extinguished the fire and requested HFD Arson investigators to determine the cause and origin. The homeowner arrived on scene and reported the house was under renovation and had no utilities. Firefighters from Stations 15, 34, 45, 32, 39, 43, 56 and 30 responded to this incident.
